DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met Sept. 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the commissioners:

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met in regular session at the Legislative Center’s Gathertorium at 7:26 p.m. President Frieders called the meeting to order and the Secretary called the roll. Those Commissioners present were Mr. Steve Faivre, Mr. Tim Hughes, Mrs. Kathy Lampkins, Ms. Dianne Leifheit, Ms. Maureen Little, Mr. Jim Luebke, Ms. Terri Mann-Lamb, Mr. Neill Mohammad, Mr. Jerry Osland, Mr. Roy Plote, Mr. Craig Roman, Ms. Linda Slabon, Mr. Larry West, Vice-President Suzanne Willis, Mr. Tim Bagby, Mr. Scott Campbell, Ms. Mary Cozad, Ms. Rukisha Crawford, Mrs. Karen Cribben, Mr. Bill Cummings, Mr. Patrick Deutsch, Mrs. Laurie Emmer, and President John Frieders. Those absent were Ms. Kiara Jones. A quorum was established with twenty-three Commissioners present and one absent.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

Mr. Bagby moved to approve the agenda as presented and Ms. Cozad seconded the motion. Voice Vote

President Frieders called for a voice vote to approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Mr. Hughes moved to approve the minutes of the August 18, 2021 meeting. Mrs. Emmer seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Frieders asked for a voice vote on the approval of minutes. All Commissioners voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.

COMMUNICATIONS & PROCLAMATIONS

None.

There were no public comments.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS

Resolution FP-R2021-04: Placing the FY2022 Forest Preserve District’s Budget on File for Public Inspection

Motion

Mr. Roman moved that the DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners do hereby place on file in the DeKalb County Clerk’s Office, on the County’s Website, and at two other geographically diverse public offices (the Sandwich City Hall and the office of the Genoa City Clerk), for public inspection, the attached levy and annual appropriations, as well as information utilized by the Committee in preparation of the 2022 Fiscal Year Budget. Ms. Little seconded the motion.

President Frieders called for a roll call vote on the motion as presented. Those voting yea were Mr. Faivre, Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann-Lamb, Mr. Mohammad, Mr. Osland, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Ms. Slabon, Mr. West, Vice-President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, Mrs. Cribben, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs. Emmer, and President Frieders. All Commissioners present voted yea. The motion carried unanimously.

Claims – September 2021

Mr. Roman moved to approve the payment of claims for this month, and the off-cycle claims paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amount of $99,342.95. Mr. Plote seconded the motion.

President Frieders called for a roll call vote on the approval of the September Claims. Those Commissioners voting yea were Mr. Faivre, Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann-Lamb, Mr. Mohammad, Mr. Osland, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Ms. Slabon, Mr. West, Vice-President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, Mrs. Cribben, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs. Emmer, and President Frieders. All Commissioners voted yea. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS

The Annual Jeff’s Trees Memorial will be held at Afton Forest Preserve on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

There will be Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Great Western Trail Extension on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sycamore Forest Preserve.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion

Mr. Osland moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:34 p.m. and Mr. Luebke seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Frieders called for a voice vote on the adjournment. Motion carried unanimously.
