Report: DeKalb School District spent $13,959 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at DeKalb Community Unit School District 428 was up 6.7 percent from five years ago, according to the DeKalb Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Dekalb County school district spent $13,084 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,959 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 6,450 to 6,604 students over the same period.

DeKalb's spending in 2019-20 was 3.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
