Morgan Godvin, founder of Beats Overdose, is the latest guest on the 40,000 Steps Radio podcast.
Then a heroin addict, Godvin did 5 years in prison after selling the drugs that killed her close friend. Despite being unable to rent an apartment or adopt a child because of her felony status, she finished her college education and became a force in criminal justice reform. She was a driving force behind the decriminalization of drug possession in the state of Oregon.
Morgan is an editor of a law publication, and through Beats Overdose, she collaborates with hip-hop legends Atmosphere and Cypress Hill to provide harm reduction education and resources at concerts.
