Scott Gryder has issued the following press release:

OSWEGO, Ill. (May 12, 2022) Kendall County Chairman Scott Gryder is releasing the following statement on the baby formula shortage hurting families in the 14th District and across the country.

“Congress just approved $40 billion in money to send to the Ukraine government but our leaders in Washington D.C. have failed to provide any solutions to the baby formula shortage impacting families across the country.

"Why are children in Ukraine more important than children in the United States?

"I am all for humanitarian efforts but what about the shortage of baby formula in the United States that is denying infants of the nutrition they need?

"There is a stockpile of baby formula in Europe that could be used here in the United States but because the bureaucrats at the FDA do not regulate that formula, American families can’t access it. Why isn’t Lauren Underwood applying pressure to the Biden Administration to relax the FDA rules to help families get the formula they need?

"It is time for some sanity in Washington, D.C. Lauren Underwood is doing nothing and saying nothing on the baby formula shortage which seems to be what she does best. Families in the 14th Congressional District deserve better than this. They deserve a leader who will push for solutions to the problems they face instead of staying silent. The shortage is real, and it is hurting infants who need the nutrition that baby formula provides. We need solutions not the mopey silence of a clueless millennial like fake nurse Lauren Underwood.”

Currently serving as Kendall County Board Chairman, Scott Gryder is challenging Lauren Underwood for the future of Illinois 14th District on behalf the brave men and women who served our nation with honor and deserve accountability from their elected leaders.
