A season-opening home meet on the North 40 Course highlights the 2022 schedule for the Northern Illinois University women's cross country team. The Huskies will open the campaign on Friday night, September 2, with the First State Bank Huskie Challenge.
NIU's home meet, which is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., begins a busy weekend of activity for the North 40 Course. On Saturday, September 3, the course will welcome the public for the 2nd Annual Opening Day 5K Run/Walk presented by First State Bank, which will take place at 8 a.m. Registration is available now for just $30 and proceeds will benefit the Huskie women's cross country team.
Following their season-opening meet, the Huskies will travel north to Whitewater, Wis., to take part in the Tom Hoffman Invitational on Saturday, September 17.
The month of October begins with a trip to the Live in Louisville Classic on Saturday, October 1, hosted by the University of Louisville. NIU will then close the regular season with a trip to Peoria for the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, October 14.
Ohio University will host the 2022 Mid-American Conference Championship as the Huskies travel to Athens, Ohio, on Saturday, October 29. The NCAA Midwest Regional Championship will be hosted by the University of Missouri on Friday, November 11, in Columbia, Mo.
