Something new and fun is happening on July 16th. With a scenic farmstead location along a beautiful pond as a backdrop, the DeKalb County History Center is hosting its inaugural fundraiser “Cocktails at the Crib.” Gather your friends and stop by for an entertaining evening where each ticket includes a commemorative beverage glass, specialty cocktails, music, appetizers and more. Proudly presented by Resource Bank, come celebrate and support DeKalb County’s history.

“When discussing a new fund raiser for the History Center, we really wanted to take advantage of our beautiful campus. The corn crib is one of the impressive features on the property, so we decided to play around with the idea of this space as a former farmstead and ultimately created ‘Cocktails at the Crib,’” explained Michelle Donahoe, Executive Director of the DeKalb County History Center. She continued, “We are very excited to offer so many unique experiences during this event, and we are looking forward to gathering again with the community who so generously supports our work.”

Each ticket is $50 which includes a souvenir cocktail glass (limited quantity available), five beverage tickets, tasty appetizers, musical entertainment by Craig Mathey and Friends, a specially designed rustic selfie-spot to create photo memories, cornhole toss games, silent auction, and cash bar. Two specialty cocktails created by Whiskey Acres will be offered: Bourbon & Blues or Vodka Lemonade. Wine, beer, soft drinks, and water are also available. Savor a drink under the tent outside or step inside to nosh on tasty appetizers and sweets, bid on extraordinary silent auction items, as well as tour the exhibit “History of DeKalb County in 100 Objects.” See more on the event webpage: https://www.dekalbcountyhistory.org/cocktails-at-the-crib/
