DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Board met Aug. 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met in regular session at the Legislative  Center’s Gathertorium at 8:35 p.m. Vice-President Willis called the  meeting to order and the Secretary called the roll. Those Commissioners present were Mr. Craig Roman,  Mr. Ellingsworth Webb, Vice-Chair Suzanne Willis, Mr. Tim Bagby, Mr. Scott Campbell, Ms. Rukisha  Crawford, Mrs. Karen Cribben, Mr. Bill Cummings, Mr. Patrick Deutsch, Mrs. Laurie Emmer, Mr. Steve  Faivre, Mrs. Kathy Lampkins, Ms. Dianne Leifheit, Ms. Maureen Little, Mr. Jim Luebke, Ms. Terri  Mann-Lamb, Mr. Jerry Osland, Mr. Roy Plote, and Mr. Stephen Reid. Those absent were Mr. Larry West,  Ms. Mary Cozad, Mr. John Emerson, and President John Frieders. There was a quorum with twenty  Commissioners present and four absent. 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA  

Motion 

Mr. Bagby moved to approve the agenda as presented and Mrs. Cribben seconded the motion.  Voice Vote 

Vice-President Willis called for a voice vote to approve the agenda as presented. The motion  carried unanimously. 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES 

Motion 

Mr. Roman moved to approve the minutes of the June 15, 2022 meeting. Mr. Deutsch seconded  the motion. 

Voice Vote 

Vice-President Willis asked for a voice vote on the approval of minutes. All Commissioners  present voted aye. Motion carried unanimously. 

PUBLIC COMMENTS 

There were no public comments. 

COMMUNICATIONS & PROCLAMATIONS 

Mr. Roman presented the Sycamore Lions Club with a Certificate of Recognition and  Appreciation for their 28 years of cleanup on the Great Western Trail and for their donation of  the Lions Picnic Shelter and bench at the Sycamore Forest Preserve.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS 

Claims – July 2022

Motion 

Mr. Roman moved to approve the payment of claims for last month, and the off-cycle claims  paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amount  of $106,491.69. Mr. Faivre seconded the motion. 

Roll Call Vote 

Vice-President Willis asked for a roll call vote on the motion to approve and payment of the  District’s July 2022 Claims. Those Commissioners voting aye were Mr. Roman, Mr. Webb, Mr.  Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Crawford, Mrs. Cribben, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs. Emmer,  Mr. Faivre, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann-Lamb, Mr. Osland,  Ms. Pickett, Mr. Plote, Mr. Reid, and Vice-President Willis. All Commissioners present voted  aye. The motion carried unanimously. 

Claims – August 2022

Motion 

Mr. Roman moved to approve the payment of claims for this month, and the off-cycle claims  paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amount  of $112,884.38. Mr. Deutsch seconded the motion. 

Roll Call Vote 

The Vice-President asked for a roll call vote on the motion to approve and payment of the  District’s August 2022 Claims. Those Commissioners voting aye were Mr. Roman, Mr. Webb,  Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Crawford, Mrs. Cribben, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs.  Emmer, Mr. Faivre, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann-Lamb, Mr.  Osland, Ms. Pickett, Mr. Plote, Mr. Reid, and Vice-President Willis. The motion carried  unanimously. 

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS

None.

ADJOURNMENT 

Motion

Mr. Plote moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:41 p.m. and Ms. Mann-Lamb seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

Vice-President Willis called for a voice vote on the adjournment. Motion carried unanimously.
