Rep. Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) is giving her constituents an opportunity to join her, and other elected officials, over breakfast in DeKalb County this Friday.

“Calling my DeKalb County Friends!! Join me and meet your local DeKalb County officials!,” McCombie posted on Facebook. “Cannot make it, but want to support your local Republican Party ... send a donation and share on your FB page! #letsGO #getengaged”

The breakfast event will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Hopkins Park Community Center, 1403 Sycamore Road, in DeKalb. The DeKalb County Republican Central Committee, Circuit Clerk Loris Grubbs, Coroner Dennis Miller, candidate for County Clerk Tasha Simms, and Treasurer Becky Springer, will be there in addition to McCombie. Tickets are $35 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are available, too.

McCombie recently voiced her opinion on allegations against Sen. Emil Jones III (D-Chicago).

"Here we go again!” she posted, along with a screenshot from the Chicago Sun-Times article, according to Rock Island Today. “Nothing worse than using your position for personal gain and destroying the trust of the people you serve! #whosenext #ethicsreform #reimagineillinois"

The charges come three years after he "allegedly lied to the FBI about whether he’d agreed to protect the politically connected red-light camera company SafeSpeed LLC in the Illinois General Assembly.”

McCombie was elected in 2016 to represent the 71st District. She is a lifelong resident of Savanna, and she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Western Illinois University. She owns and operates Blue Appraisals and is a real estate broker with MelFoster Co. Her previous political experience includes serving as the mayor of Savanna and on the Savanna City Council.
