Construction is beginning on the creation of traffic calming islands on Fairview Drive at Monticello Drive.
A detour was put in place on Oct. 14 and will last around three weeks.
Two islands will be built on Fairview Drive improving safety for pedestrians by allowing them to cross the road one half at a time. Stop signs will be added once the islands are built. The design plans for the project are shown below.
