DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Board met Jan. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met in regular session at the Legislative Center’s Gathertorium on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 7:51 p.m. President Willis called the meeting to order, and the Secretary called the roll. Those present were District Commissioners Scott Campbell, Mary Cozad, Rukisha Crawford, Patrick Deutsch, Meryl Domina, Laurie Emmer, John Frieders, Ben Haier, Savannah Ilenikhena, Kathy Lampkins, Maureen Little, Jim Luebke, Terri Mann-Lamb, Stewart Ogilvie, Jerry Osland, Michelle Pickett, Roy Plote, Chris Porterfield, Amber Quitno, Ellingsworth Webb, Tim Bagby, and President Suzanne Willis. Commissioner Karen Cribben was absent. There was a quorum established with twenty-two Commissioners present, one absent, and one vacancy.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

Porterfield moved to approve the agenda as presented and Mann-Lamb seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Willis called for a voice vote to approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Cozad moved to approve the minutes of the November 16, 2022 and December 5, 2022 meetings. Bagby seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Willis asked for a voice vote on the approval of minutes. All Commissioners present voted aye. Motion carried unanimously.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

There were no public comments.

COMMUNICATIONS & PROCLAMATIONS

None.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS

Claims - December 2022

Motion

Piote moved to approve the payment of claims for last month, and the off-cycle claims paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amoimt of $158,702.30. Mann-Lamb seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

The President asked for a roll call vote on the motion to approve and payment of the District's December 2022 Claims. Those Commissioners voting aye were Campbell, Cozad, Crawford, Deutsch, Domina, Emmer, Frieders, Haier, Ilenikhena, Lampkins, Little, Luebke, Mann-Lamb, Ogilvie, Osland, Pickett, Plote, Porterfield, Quitno, Webb, Bagby, and President Willis. The motion carried unanimously.

Claims - January 2023

Motion

Plote moved to approve the payment of claims for this month, and the off-cycle claims paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amount of $704,607.59. Porterfield seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

President Willis asked for a roll call vote on the motion to approve and payment of the District's January 2023 Claims. Those Commissioners voting aye were Campbell, Cozad, Crawford, Deutsch, Domina, Emmer, Frieders, Haier, Ilenikhena, Lampkins, Little, Luebke, Mann-Lamb, Ogilvie, Osland, Pickett, Plote, Porterfield, Quitno, Webb, Bagby, and President Willis. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS

Plote announced that the University of Illinois Extension and DeKalb County Forest Preserve are hosting Winter Fest on Saturday, January 21,2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Natural Resource Education Center at Russell Woods Forest Preserve in Genoa. The fi-ee event is for families to get out, have fun, and explore an enjoyable destination.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion

Porterfield moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:57 p.m. and Mann-Lamb seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Willis called for a voice vote on the adjournment. Motion carried unanimously.
