University Writing Center (UWC) Open

Free, in-person and online tutoring is available to all NIU students and staff at the University Writing Center (UWC). You can schedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance using our schedule system or drop in at our space in Founders Memorial Library 152.

At the UWC, you can:

1. Work on projects from first-year composition papers to capstones and dissertations.
2. Discuss strategies for writing different types of documents like literature reviews or job-application materials.
3. Review grad school and scholarship applications plus accompanying professional writing like email or LinkedIn.

Availability is subject to staffing and student demand, so schedule your visit now rather than wait until high-demand times like midterms and finals.
