DeKalb County Board of Review met Nov. 20.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
Those in attendance: Dan Cribben, Chairman; John Linderoth and Brian Rosenow, Members; Bridget Nodurft, CCAO; and Michelle Christensen, Chief Deputy.
I. Call to Order: Chairman called the meeting to order at 9:00 am.
II. Roll Call: Chairman asked that the record show all members present.
III. Review Agenda for Approval / Amendment: John moved to approve agenda as written. Brian seconded motion. All in favor, so moved.
IV. Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes: John moved to approve November 8, 2023 minutes. Brian seconded motion. All in favor, so moved.
V. Public Comments: None
VI. 2023 Board of Review WAIVE Hearings: Please see attached.
VII. Work Load
a) Review to Approve / Deny Disabled Person Exemptions (HEPD): None
b) Review to Approve / Deny Disabled Veteran Exemptions (SHEDV): After Board review, John moved to deny 4-New SHEDV applications. Brian seconded motion. All in favor, so moved. See attached list.
c) Review to Approve / Deny Senior Exemptions (HE): None
d) Review to Approve / Deny Assessor Changes: After Board review, Brian moved to approve ASR changes #119-127, consisting of 8 Assessor Changes and 1 Stipualtion; totalling 9. All in favor, so moved.
e) Review, Prepare and Make a Recommendation for PTAB Appeals: Bridget informed the Board that we received a call from PTAB stating they received a 2023 appeal. They have docketed the appeal received and will notify appellant appeal was submitted to wrong entity and the filing deadline has passed.
VIII. Other Business:
a) Future dates for hearings were discussed, after which, it was decided to scheudle hearings for December 12th, 13th, and the 28th if needed. Due to majority of appeals filed having a 10-day extension, hearings will resume the week of January 3rd, 2024.
b) The Annual Assessor Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 8, 2023 in the Conference Room East of the Administration Building.
c) We have a canidate who passed the Board of Review Test with IDOR. Bridget will submit their name for recommendation for appointment as an Alternate Board Member for the December County Board meeting.
IX. Adjournment: John moved to adjourn the meeting. Brian seconded motion. All in favor, so moved. Meeting adjourned at 11:45 am.
