State Senator Dave Syverson and State Representative Jeff Keicher are once again inviting constituents to join them in spreading love and joy to residents of long-term care facilities. The duo is hosting the Annual Valentines for Seniors Card Drive, which aims to collect Valentine's Day cards from the community and distribute them to the elderly.

Last year, the initiative saw an overwhelming response, with over 10,000 valentines collected from various groups and individuals across the 35th Senate District and 70th House District. This year, Syverson and Keicher are hoping to surpass that number and make an even greater impact.

Community members, churches, schools, businesses, and other groups are encouraged to participate by either dropping off or mailing Valentine's Day cards to the legislative offices of Sen. Syverson and Rep. Keicher. The cards can be sent to the following addresses:

- 527 Colman Center Dr., Cherry Valley, IL 61108 (815-987-7555)

- 158 W. State Street, Suite C, Sycamore, IL 60178 (815-748-3494)

- 115 W. Oak Knoll Dr., Route 72, Hampshire, IL 60140 (815-987-7555)

Once the collection period ends on February 7th, all the cards will be gathered and delivered to residents of long-term care facilities in communities across the region. This small gesture of kindness and thoughtfulness can brighten the day of those who may feel lonely or isolated.

Sen. Syverson and Rep. Keicher are hopeful that this year's Valentines for Seniors Card Drive will bring joy to even more individuals. They are urging everyone to participate and make a difference in the lives of the elderly in their communities.

For those interested in contributing or seeking more information, please contact Sen. Syverson's office at 815-987-7555 or Rep. Keicher's office at 815-748-3494.

As Sen. Syverson stated, "We had an incredible response to last year's card drive, and we hope to see even more participation this year. The Valentines for Seniors Card Drive is a wonderful way to show our elderly community members that they are loved and appreciated."

Rep. Keicher added, "The simple act of sending a Valentine's Day card can bring so much joy to someone's day. It's heartwarming to see our community come together to make a difference in the lives of those in long-term care facilities."

Let us all join hands and make this Valentine's Day a memorable one for the seniors in our communities.
