State Reps. Jeff Keicher and Dan Ugaste, in collaboration with the Elburn Police Department, are organizing a prescription drug drop-off event on July 10. The initiative aims to collect unwanted or expired medications for safe disposal at no cost.

The event will be held outdoors, allowing participants to remain in their vehicles while dropping off medications. Attendees are encouraged to bring medications in sealed plastic bags if possible.

Accepted items include tablets, capsules, other solid form prescription drugs, prescription ointments and patches, pet medications, vitamins, and vaping devices and cartridges (with lithium batteries removed). Items that will not be accepted are needles, syringes, illegal drugs, and liquids.
