DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board Finance Committee met Oct. 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Perry Maier, Meghan Cook, Marilyn Stromborg

1. Call to Order

Dr. Stromborg called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm

2. Approval of Agenda

Ms. Cook moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Mr. Maier. The motion passed unanimously.

3. Approval of Minutes

Mr. Maier moved to approve the minutes of the 09/03/2024 meeting, seconded by Ms. Cook. The motion passed unanimously.

4. Office Report

• Ms. Cada shared that Mr. Gregory sent out an email stating that he added $75,000 to the DCCMHB budget. If the County Board approves the increase, Ms. Cada will update the FY2025 Budget for review and approval.

• Ms. Cada shared that the tax payment has been received and that the DCCMHB is on track to receive the total budgeted amount for FY2024.

• Ms. Cada read Dan Kenney's request to support a Homeless Family event scheduled at the DeKalb Library. There is no financial obligation for the support. Ms. Cada will notify Mr. Kenney that the DCCMHB supp011s the event.

6. Approval of October 2024 Claims

a. Ms. Cook moved to approve the October 2024 Agency Claims in the amount of $275,011.58, seconded by Mr. Maier. The motion passed unanimously on a roll call vote. Mr. Maier-Yes, Ms. Cook- Yes, Dr. Stromborg-Yes.

b. Ms. Cook moved to approve the October 2024 Office Claims in the amount of $1,848.65, seconded by Mr. Maier. The motion passed unanimously on a roll call vote. Mr. Maier-Yes, Ms. Cook-Yes, Dr. Stromborg-Yes.

7. Old Business

a. Multi-Year Grant Guidelines-Ms. Cada shared the updated guidelines. Discussion ensued with recommendations for changes.

Ms. Cook motioned to move the guidelines to the full board with changes; Mr. Maier Seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

8. New Business

a. DeKalb County Health Department Request - Action Needed - Lisa Gonzalez notified Ms. Cada that this request is no longer needed.

b. County Opioid Settlement Funds-Ms. Cada shared that the County Board is reviewing these funds and how best to proceed with utilization.

c. Coordinated Community Violence Response-Ms. Cada convened a Zoom meeting to engage stakeholders in a conversation about shared messaging and community crisis situations. The group will meet again to discuss the next steps.

d. Vision Grant Request - Action Needed

i. Safe Passage - no application

ii. Voluntary Action Center - no application

iii. RAMP - no application

Elder Care Services submitted a Vision Grant application. Upon review, it was determined that the request did not match the funding guidelines and criteria. Ms. Cada will notify ECS staff and recommend other opportunities.

9. One-Year and Three-Year Plan Goals -

a. CEBiB Strategy Status - Ms. Cada shared that she discussed webpage additions with Sheila Santos, IMO Director, and they will move forward with updates to the CEBiB page. Ms. Cada has not yet found a vendor fort-shirts. Mr. Maier recommended Health Merch as an option.

10. Date of next meeting: The next meeting is November 5, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Dr. Stromborg will not attend the next meeting.

11. Adjournment

Ms. Cook moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Maier. The motion passed unanimously.
