2. 2024 - 2025 School District Scorecard
Submitted By: Dr. Cassandra Schug & Dr. Dave Carson
Description: Annually the school district administration creates a scorecard that identifies growth targets for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each of the five goals of our strategic plan.
Throughout the year, the scorecard provides information that tracks our progress in each goal and strategy. The proposed scorecard can be viewed by following this link.
This slides presentation provides an overview of the adjustments to the goals included in the scorecard as well as the key steps (milestones) that will be taken throughout the school year to accomplish the growth identified in the scorecard.
School scorecards will be reviewed at the October Education Services Committee and board action will be requested at the October School Board meeting.

4. Annual Gifted Programming Update
Per Board policy, on an annual basis, administration provides an update on our gifted programming. Our gifted programming is at the 4th and 5th grade level for eligible students and it is called the Accelerated Learner Program (ALP).
No action required.
5. Cell Phone/Electronic Devices Use - Research Study Our strategic plan goal two specifically looks at the importance and impact of the learning environment on student achievement and well being. The rise in student cell phone and electronic device use during the school day is impacting attention, engagement, and social emotional well-being in classrooms across the country. As educators, it's critical that we examine how these devices affect learning environments and relationships—and develop a clear, consistent approach that puts student success first. By forming a research study team, we can ensure that any district-wide practice is informed by research, aligned with our values, and responsive to the real challenges and opportunities technology presents in our schools.
This team will examine the role of cell phones and personal electronic devices in our schools and recommend a consistent, district-wide practice that supports student learning, engagement, safety, and well-being. By August, the team will deliver a recommendation for a district-wide cell phone/electronic device practice that is research based, equitable, and aligned to the needs of our learning community.
6. Stronger Connections Update
Belvidere District 100 applied for and received the Stronger Connections Grant for this school year. The grant has allowed for individualized, clinical counseling for students at the secondary level. The grant is set to expire June 2025 and we would like to continue these services for our at-risk students.
Consider utilizing local funds while administration continues to look for grant funding to cover the costs of clinical counseling.
