DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board Executive Committee met May 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Perry Maier, Meghan Cook, Marilyn Stromborg Committee Members Not Present: 

Staff Present: Deanna Cada, Heaven Allen  

Other Persons Present:  

1. Call to Order  

Ms. Cook called the meeting to order at 7:22 p.m.  

2. Agenda 

Dr. Stromborg moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Mr. Maier. The motion passed unanimously. 3. Approval of Minutes 

Dr. Stromborg moved to approve the minutes of the April 9, 2025, meeting, seconded by Mr. Maier. The motion passed unanimously. 

4. Office Report 

• Ms. Cada shared that the ROE Iris Team held their Iris Community Conversation on April  23rd; they had roughly 70 attendees and received a lot of positive feedback from the event.  The IRIS team was also recognized on a national level for their work in establishing the  DeKalb County Iris Network. 

• Ms. Cada shared that she had a podcast interview with Payton Adams about Mental Health  Awareness Month that aired on WDKB 94.9. 

• Ms. Cada shared a reminder about the Art Show on May 14th from 4-6:30 pm at Blumen  Gardens  

• Ms. Cada shared that she will be co-hosting a Resilience Workshop on May 16th with  Michelle Hawley from the Kendall County Health Department. The workshop offers free  CEUs for attendees. Ms. Cada and Ms. Hawley will also be hosting this workshop in  Kendall County on May 20th.  

• Ms. Cada shared that there is a new NAMI connection support group

6. Old Business 

A. Grant Year 2026 Process Update 

i. Late Application Procedure – Possible Action – Discussed during Finance  Committee  

B. DCCMHB Staffing Exploration & Discussion – Possible Action – Will discuss during the  July Executive Meeting and then have conversations at the Board Retreat in July.  

C. DCCMHB 2025-2026 Slate of Officers – Will finalize slate of officers at the June Board  Meeting. 

7. New Business 

A. 12 Health Services Drive Discussion – Finance committee voted to forward the updated  lease language to the full board.  

B. FY2025 Annual Report – Draft at June Meeting 

8. One-Year/Three-Year Plan update – 

A. Impact Committee Updates - None 

B. CEBiB Updates – Next meeting on May 20th 

C. Suicide Prevention – September Student Art Show  

9. Next Executive Committee Meeting Date: June 3, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. 

10. Adjournment 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm.
