DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center Oversight Board met May 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A Regular meeting of the Members of the DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center Oversight Board (hereinafter “Oversight Board”) was held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room in DeKalb, Illinois pursuant to written notice to each Member as required by the By-Laws.

ROLL CALL

Chair Anna Wilhelmi called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and called the roll. Those Members present were Abdul El-Jamal, Mary Hatch, Rhonda Henke, Kay Riley, and Frank Roberts. A quorum was established with six Members present, three absent.

Others that were Nursing Home Administrator Bart Becker, County Board Vice-Chair Ellingsworth Webb and Board Secretary Liam Sullivan

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

It was moved by Roberts to approve the agenda as presented, seconded by Riley and approved unanimously by voice vote.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES

It was moved by Riley and seconded by El-Jamal to approve the minutes of the April 22, 2025 Meeting of the DCRNC Oversight Board and approved unanimously by voice vote.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

There were no public comments

CHAIR’S COMMENTS

Chair Wilhelmi thanked the Oversight Board for being united to ensure residents are properly cared for. She also thanked staff for their efforts to bring forward a proposal for a new position in the DCRNC business office.

Additionally, Chair Wilhelmi stated that this will be Kay Riley’s last meeting as a member of the Oversight Board and thanked Kay for her contributions. Chair Wilhelmi also welcomed Rebecca Johnson to the Oversight Board.

PRESENTATIONS/DISCUSSIONS

DCRNC Administrator’s Report

Next, Becker noted that all tags from the IDPH annual inspection have been cleared.

Additionally, the new Community Liaison will be starting in early June.

Discussion of DCRNC Bylaws

Hatch asked for the discussion of the DCRNC bylaws to be moved to the next meeting.

CONSIDERATIONS

There were no consideration items.

OLD BUSINESS

County Board Vice-Chair Ellingsworth Webb noted that the Illinois Association of County Board Members Nursing Home Committee has met and he was named the president of the Committee. He shared that the group is working on doing comparisons between their facilities.

NEW BUSINESS

There were no New Business Items.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion to adjourn was made by Riley, seconded by Henke and approved by voice vote, with all votes cast in the affirmative.
