Belvidere Community Unit School District 100 Board Educational Services Committee met Oct. 1.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

A. Board Educational Services Committee

1. Norms for Collaboration

Submitted By: Dr. Megan Johnson and Dr. David Carson

Description: This committee began utilizing these norms to support participation and collaboration in the 22 - 23 school year. We will review and revise, as needed, at the start of our August meeting as well as at each following meeting to check in on how we're functioning as a team.

1. Start and end on time.

2. To the best of one's ability, review the agenda and attachments ahead of the meeting to be prepared to participate.

3. Respect topic time-keeping to ensure that all matters of the agenda can be addressed.

4. Assume positive intent.

5. Share the air.

2. Strategic Plan Update - Goals 1 & 2

Each meeting the administration will provide a review of the District's progress to achieve the goals of the strategic plan. The Educational Services Committee will focus on Goal 1: Academic Achievement & Growth and Goal 2: Learning Environment.

This monthly presentation and the District's scorecard provide key updates about the school district's progress to implement the strategic plan. 

3. 2025-2026 School Scorecards 

Each year schools develop a scorecard that identifies the top priority improvement goals, the key strategies, and the measures that will be used to monitor progress. The schools' scorecards were built in alignment with the district scorecard that is aligned to the school district's strategic plan. 2025 - 2026 School Scorecards

4. Early College Credit Data Review - Fall 2025

A summary of the Early College credit data for District 100. The attached report provides information about course enrollment, completion rates, and student achievement in early college credit bearing courses, including Articulated and Dual Credit courses, Advanced Placement courses, and the Running Start program.

6. Federal Grants Overview 

Annually Belvidere School District receives federal grant funding to support instructional programming and support student achievement academically and social emotionally. Attached is an overview of the grants we receive and a description of a funding cycle.

7. Portrait of a Graduate Research Study Proposal 

Our current strategic plan, while foundational, includes a list of graduate traits that haven't been fully operationalized. To ensure our students are prepared for their futures, it's critical to develop and operationalize a Portrait of a Graduate (PoG). This PoG will build upon our existing strategic planning work and serve as a clear, compelling, and collaboratively developed vision of success for District 100. It will articulate the durable competencies our students need for their future lives and provide a student-focused base from which to ensure alignment across all district initiatives and serve as the guiding vision for our school district.
