Analysis: DeKalb pays $7.43 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Dekalb Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88 percent of the $2,855,964 the Dekalb Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $7.43 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DeKalb Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, DeKalb contributed $2,512,631 to the fund, which saw a $368,566 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $338,056, or 11.8 percent, in 2016. Another $5,277 came from other unspecified sources.
