Report: Sycamore spent $11,991 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Sycamore Community Unit School District 427 is up 10 percent from five years ago, according to a DeKalb Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Dekalb County school district spent $10,907 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,991 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3771 to 3763.

Sycamore's spending in 2016-17 was 8 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
