Report: Genoa Kingston spent $11,162 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Genoa Kingston Community Unit School District 424 is up 9 percent from five years ago, according to a DeKalb Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Dekalb County school district spent $10,205 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,162 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1866 to 1726.

Genoa Kingston's spending in 2016-17 was 14 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
