Maple Park-Countryside Fire Protection District responded to 39 calls in 2017 - 30 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Maple Park-Countryside included 26 fires - 16 structure fires, two vehicle fires and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $453,000 in fire loss - or about $17,423 per fire.

The department also received 13 false calls, including three malicious calls and 10 other false calls.

The Maple Park-Countryside Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $512,213 in 2017.
