Report: Which DeKalb County communities saw the most fires in 2017?

Shabbona Fire Protection Department, Malta Fire Protection District and Cortland Fire Protection Department reported responding to the most fire-related incidents per capita in DeKalb County in 2017, according to the latest state report.

The annual summary of state fire incidents, published by the Illinois State Fire Marshal, records the number and type of fire-related incidents each fire protection district responded to in the calendar year. Fires are categorized as structure fires, vehicle fires or other fires.
