Village of Kingston Village Board met August 6.

Meeting Call:

The regular Village Board Meeting with the Board of Trustees of the Village of Kingston, was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Jim Baenziger, Monday, August 6, 2018 in the Village Board Room, at the Kingston Municipal Building, 101 E. Railroad St., Kingston, DeKalb County, Illinois.

Roll Call:

Upon roll call by President Baenziger, the following were in attendance:

Present: 5, President Baenziger, Trustees Frank Altmaier, Jack Fischer, Joe Hengels and John Lynch.

Absent: 1, Steve Van Buren.

Also in attendance was Village Attorney Kevin Buick, Police Chief Taft, Public Works Director, Justin Kamp and Village Engineer Kevin Berry.

Agenda Additions Or Corrections:

None at this time.

Minutes:

Motion by Trustee Hengels, seconded by Trustee Fischer to approve the July 2, 2018 Minutes.

Roll Call Vote:

Ayes: 5, President Baenziger, Trustees Altmaier, Fischer, Hengels and Lynch.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Steve Van Buren.

Motion carried.

Citizens Comments:

None at this time.

Village Officers Report:

Police Department Not in attendance.

Attorney Attorney Buick went over new legislation pertaining to sidewalks.

Public Works Mr. Kamp informed the Board that damage has been done to the Village road in front of 9305 Eric Circle. The Board requested that a letter be sent to the homeowner.

Mr. Kamp stated that concrete has been dumped in the culvert on the corner of Route 72 and School Street. President Baenziger will contact the school Superintendent.

Village Engineer July PE flows were 63,900.

Engineer Berry informed the Board that as a result of the televising of the sewer lines, there is 12 or so items of concern.

Trustee Fischer stated water/sewer rates will be increasing as of January 1, 1019.

Village Clerk Nothing new to report.

Treasurer Not in attendance.

Unfinished Business:

Property Maintenance Nothing new to report.

109 Main Street (Zoning) Nothing new to report.

USA BlueBook Motion by Trustee Hengels, seconded by Trustee Fischer to approve for payment corrected invoice 611974, dated June 28, 2018, in the amount of $3,795.10 for a tripod and harness for the Public Works Department.

Roll Call Vote:

Ayes: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Fischer, Hengels and Lynch.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Trustee Van Buren.

Motion carried.

New Business:

DeKalb County Economic Development- Jolene Willis and Anita Zurbrugg discussed the grants and assistance available for DeKalb County communities.

Carus Corporation Motion by Trustee Hengels, seconded by Trustee Lynch to approve for payment invoice number SLS 10068245, dated July 17, 2018 in the amount of $523.60 for water treatment chemicals.

Roll Call Vote:

Ayes: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Fischer, Hengels and Lynch.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Trustee Van Buren.

Motion carried.

EF Johnson Motion by Trustee Hengels, seconded by Trustee Fischer to approve for payment invoice number K400596, dated July 14, 2018, in the amount of $9,391.80 for digital radios (5) for the Kingston Police Department.

Roll Call Vote:

Ayes: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Fischer, Hengels and Lynch.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Trustee Van Buren.

Motion carried.

Anderson Excavating Motion by Trustee Fischer, seconded by Trustee Lynch to approve for payment invoice number 5060, dated July 11, 2018 in the amount of $1,700.00 for the replacement of a failing culvert at Third Street and Main Street.

Roll Call Vote:

Ayes: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Fischer, Hengels and Lynch.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Trustee Van Buren.

Motion carried.
