State Senate race: Democrat Simpson wins voter tally in Afton Township

David Simpson led Republican Brian W. Stewart in votes cast in Afton Township for the District 45 state Senate race, according to the latest vote count.

Simpson appeared to outpace Stewart by a margin of 7.1 percent on Tuesday in the township.

In 2014, Republican Tim Bivins, ran uncontested, so no comparison data is available.
