TURNER-EIGHNER FUNERAL HOME: Warren L. Kiest, 82

Turner-Eighner Funeral Home issued the following announcement on Nov. 17.

Warren L. Kiest, 82, of Leland, Illinois passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born January 17, 1936 in Manteno, IL the son of Blaine and Dorothy (Jordan) Kiest. He married Janice M. Pfoutz on September 15, 1957 in Marseilles, IL. He was a Master Mason at the Plano Masonic Lodge. Warren proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He retired from Caterpillar in 1996 with almost 32 years of service. He enjoyed camping, Country Western Dances, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Janice of Leland; four children, Douglas (Christine) Kiest of Sandwich, IL, Leona Meekins of Florida, David (Melissa) Kiest of Oswego, IL and Aaron Kiest of Leland, IL; six grandchildren, Ryan and Haley Kiest, Frankie Bakker, Eva and Alyssa Kiest, and Madison Kiest; his siblings, Delmar (Robbie) Kiest of Texas, Carl Kiest of Leland, IL, Connie Close of Marseilles, IL and Vickie (Mike) Pfortmiller of Sterling, IL; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Louise Primmer, and one brother, Blaine Kiest, Jr.

Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Wayne Derber officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Donor’s Choice.
