Turner-Eighner Funeral Home issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.

Kenneth E. Wolfe, 91, of Earlville, Illinois passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at his home in Earlville surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 27, 1927 in Meriden Township, the son of Samuel and Eva (Carr) Wolfe. He married Phyllis J. Hitchins on June 22, 1948 in Earlville, IL. Ken farmed in the Earlville area his entire life and drove many trucks. His greatest joy was visiting and spending time with his family and many friends.

He is survived by his two sons, Gene (Debra) Wolfe of Bremen and Georgia and John (Kathy) Wolfe of Earlville, IL; two grandchildren, Christy Artega and Sally Wolfe; one step granddaughter, Rachel Wright; three great grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His loving caregiver (daughter) Debra Zimmerman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis in 2000, and one sister, Lois Keller, one brother, Bob Wolfe.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Earlville United Methodist Church in Earlville. Private funeral service will be held at the church, with Pastor Sandy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville, IL. Arrangements were entrusted to Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
