Meeting 04

City Dekalb City Council met Dec. 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Smith called the meeting to order at 8:08 a.m.

A. ROLL CALL

City Clerk Lynn Fazekas called the roll, and the following members of City Council were present: Alderman Bill Finucane, Alderman Pat Fagan, Alderman Kate Noreiko, Alderman Mike Verbic, Alderman Tony Faivre, and Mayor Jerry Smith.

Alderman David Jacobson arrived 8:11 a.m.

Also present were: Interim City Manager Ray Munch, City Attorney Dean Frieders, and Human Resources (HR) Generalist Michelle Brening.

B. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

There was no public participation. However, HR Generalist Brening covered procedure for bringing in City Manager candidates individually. She said the schedule allowed for an interview of one hour per candidate and cautioned Council to stay on task.

C. RECESS FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION OF CITY COUNCIL

1. Approval to Hold an Executive Session to Discuss Personnel as Provided for in 5 ILCS120/2(c)(1).

2. Approval to Hold an Executive Session to Discuss the Selection of a Person to Fill anOffice as Provided for in 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(3).

Mayor Smith read the above items pertaining to Executive Session. MOTION

Alderman Jacobson moved to recess for Executive Session at 8:14 a.m. Alderman Faivre seconded.

VOTE

Motion was approved by 7-0-1 roll call vote. Aye: Jacobson, Finucane, Fagan, Noreiko, Verbic, Faivre, Smith. Nay: none. Absent: Marquardt. Mayor Smith declared a recess at 8:14 a.m.

E. ADJOURNMENT

Council came out of Executive Session at 5:11 p.m. MOTION

Alderman Jacobson moved to adjourn the Special Meeting at 5:11 p.m. Alderman Finucane seconded.

VOTE

Motion to adjourn was approved by majority voice vote. Mayor Smith declared the meeting adjourned at 5:11 p.m.
