Rachael (Rae) Floit Bacon, age 39 of Ballwin Missouri, formerly of Kingston Illinois, passed away on January 1, 2019 after a long and bravely fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family as she spent the last 2 weeks of her life at Evelyn's Hospice House in St Louis. Rachael was born on June 21, 1979 in DeKalb, Illinois and graduated from the Genoa Kingston High School in 1997. She went on to attend Augustana College where she graduated with high honors with a major in mathematics. She furthered her education by pursuing her masters in Industrial Hygiene and Safety at the University of Iowa.
In 2008 she married Jeremy Bacon of Kingston and two years later their precious daughter, Naomi, was born. Rachael lived each day as a loving wife and mother. Her love of family was closely matched by the love she had for her job as a Corporate Director of Safety for Post Holdings Company based out of St. Louis.
Rachael is survived by her husband Jeremy, her daughter Naomi, parents Gary and Carol (Weathers) Floit, her sisters Katie (Ted) Aretos, and Melanie (Daryl) Edwards, two nephews Max Aretos and Oliver Edwards as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Philip and Dolores (Ells) Floit and her maternal grandparents James and Theresa (Hirtzig) Weathers.
Rachael was a driven intellectual always up for any challenge. Her smile and infectious laugh could brighten any room. She made friends everywhere she went. Rachael had a wonderful sense of adventure that she explored through her love of books, travel and trying new things (except food). She was fearless and confident in a way that made you want to be the same.
