Report: Belvidere spent $11,646 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Belvidere Community Unit School District 100 is up 18.7 percent from five years ago, according to a DeKalb Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Boone County school district spent $9,811 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,646 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 8309 to 8003.

Belvidere's spending in 2017-18 was 12.7 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
