Report: Somonauk spent $10,988 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Somonauk Community Unit School District 432 is up 15.4 percent from five years ago, according to a DeKalb Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Dekalb County school district spent $9,522 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,988 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 822 to 815.

Somonauk's spending in 2017-18 was 17.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
