TURNER-EIGHNER FUNERAL HOME: William Thomas Latimer

Turner-Eighner Funeral Home issued the following announcement on.

William Thomas Latimer, 92, of Mendota, IL formerly of rural Earlville, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. He was born October 25, 1926 in Lee County, IL the son of Thomas McKinley and Nellie Marie (Brown) Latimer. He married Doris Ethelyn Cornell on August 21, 1949 in Grandview Christian Church in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. Bill and Doris farmed in rural Earlville for many years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paw Paw, IL where he was an Elder and Deacon. He also was a member of the Paw Paw American Legion Post #511. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and many friends.

He is survived by four daughters, Carol Marie (Richard) Wax of Mineral, VA, Susan Jane (Albert) White of Lexington, KY, Sandra Jean Latimer of Chicago, IL, and Nancy Anne (Gary) Chemelewski of Colleyville, TX ; ten grandchildren, Katharine (Raymond) Sherman, David (Ann) Wax, Andrew (Leah) Wax, Steven (Jennifer) Phillippe, Kevin Phillippe, Adam (Raquel) Labotka, Matthew Labotka, and Lori (Michael Giansiracusa) Labotka, William (Katharine) Chemelewski, and Robert Chemelewski; numerous great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris, one grandson, Jason Phillippe, and one brother, Wayne Edward Latimer.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church in Paw Paw, IL with Rev. Dr. Anne Hoflen officiating. The family invites everyone to join them for a luncheon following the memorial service at the church in Paw Paw. Graveside services will take place after the luncheon in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. on March 27, 2019 in the church until the service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Paw Paw
