DeKalb home prices fall in the third quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2017 in DeKalb fell by $17,700 while total sales decreased by 15.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2017, there were 11 homes sold, with a median sale price of $81,000 - a 17.9% decrease over the $98,700 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 13 homes sold in DeKalb in the third quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in DeKalb for 2017 was $4,770.90. In 2016, the median sales tax was $4,697.90. This marks an increase of 1.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 5.9%.
