DeKalb home prices fall in May 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2017 in DeKalb fell by $76,699 while total sales decreased by 28.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2017, there were five homes sold, with a median sale price of $45,260 - a 62.9% decrease over the $121,959 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were seven homes sold in DeKalb in May 2016.

The median sales tax in DeKalb for 2017 was $4,771. In 2016, the median sales tax was $4,698. This marks an increase of 1.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 10.5%.
