Former state university employee Osysko paid in $8K to pension fund, could collect $267K in retirement

Former state university employee Evangeline Osysko, who retired in August 2017, saved $7,677 toward a pension over 6 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Osysko would collect as much as $267,297, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes DeKalb Times.

The projection assumes Osysko received $5,618 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 2 years of retirement, Osysko will have already received $11,405 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
