The data shows that 26 men and two women were released in the Dekalb zip code. The median age of the parolees was 31. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2016, and the oldest was a 46-year-old man convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2018.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jimmy Rabelo. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2013, when he was 32 years old. He is now 38.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
