BUTALA FUNERAL HOME: French (Frenchy) Taylor

Butala Funeral Home recently issued the following announcement.

French A. (Frenchy) Taylor, 67, of Marengo passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at NW Medicine Huntley Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 21, 1951 in Elk View, WV. to French E. and Frances (Monk) Taylor. He married the love of his life, Kate Glendenning on May 29, 1981.

Frenchy worked as a semi truck driver for DeLong Company for 18 years.

His hobbies included working on his wheelhorse tractors, channel surfing, and playing games on his tablet. He loved going to Iowa to the Casino and in his younger years loved to fish.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kate; his children, Angela (Chris) Mannes and Crystal (Marc) Grismer; brothers, Harry Taylor and Gene (Carole) Taylor; sister, Fay (Brian) Cook; father-in-law, Robert Glendenning;

sisters-in-law, Debby (Hoss) Karl and Roberta Patrick; brothers-in-law, Ron (Chris) Glendenning and Steve Glendenning (Connie); four grandchildren, Jason Mannes, Brookelynn, Maddie and Ashlynn Grismer and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Jason and Jennifer; and his brother, Bill Patrick.

His visitation will be on Tuesday, August 20th from 3:00-7:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 7:00 PM.

Burial will be at the Genoa Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his family in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main, Genoa, IL. 60135
