Town of Cortland Board of Trustees met Oct. 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Call to Order / Pledge of Allegiance / Roll Call

Mayor Stokes called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The pledge was recited and roll call was taken by Deputy Clerk Nielsen. Shown as present were Trustees Jim Walker, Mike Siewierski, Rick Robins, Doug Corson, Charmaine Fioretto, and Brad Stone. Quorum was present. Also present were Attorney Kevin Buick, and Accountant Wes Levy

Approval of Agenda

Trustee Corson moved and Trustee Robins seconded a motion to approve the agenda as presented. A unanimous voice vote carried the motion.

Public Wishing to Speak

There was no one present wishing to speak.

New Business

Ratify 2019 Lease Agreement between Town of Cortland and Steven Swanson for Airport Road Properties

Trustee Stone moved and Trustee Walker seconded motion to approve ratification of 2019 Lease Agreement between Town and Steve Swanson for Airport Road Properties. Unanimous roll call vote carried the motion.

Approve an Ordinance for a Special Event Liquor License for Cortland Fire Department District Fundraiser for Friday, October 18, 2019

Trustee Corson moved and Trustee Siewierski seconded a motion to approve An Ordinance for a Special Event Liquor License for Cortland Fire District. Unanimous roll call vote carried the motion.

Ord 2019-19

Approve a Variance for Noise for Cortland Fire Department Fundraiser, October 18, 2019 until 11:00 p.m.

Trustee Corson moved and Trustee Fioretto seconded a motion to approved Variance for Noise for Cortland Fire Department Fundraiser, October 18, 2019 until 11:00 p.m. Unanimous roll call vote carried the motion

M 2019-02

Approve an Ordinance Amending the Property Tax Abatement Qualifying Criteria and Definitions in the Dekalb County Enterprise Zone

On September 19, 2019, the DeKalb County Enterprise Zone Advisory Board approved recommending the following amendments/technical corrections to the DeKalb County Enterprise Zone property tax abatement program. These amendments are needed to support business attraction and expansion by addressing factors not know when preparing the Enterprise Zone application during 2014.

Mr. Paul Borek with the Dekalb County Economic Development Corporation was present to answer any question and gave an overview of the Enterprise Zone accomplishments and plans for the future. Trustee Walker moved and Trustee Robins seconded a motion to approve an Ordinance Amending the Property Tax Abatement Qualifying Criteria and Definitions in the DeKalb County Enterprise Zone. Unanimous roll call vote carried the motion.

Comments and Concerns

Trustee Corson and Stone remarked on the success for the Festival and Parade.

Trustee Siewierski moved and Trustee Stone seconded a motion to adjourn. Unanimous voice vote carried the motion. Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
