Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home ecently issued the following announcement.

Obituary for Dale R. Kidd

Dale R. Kidd, 72, of Leland, Illinois passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. He was born August 31, 1947 in Moline, IL the son of Margerite Kidd and raised by his grandparents, Ruth and C.C. Kidd. He married Laurinda Keasler on September 16, 1966 in Leland, IL. Dale graduated from Mendota High School in 1965. He proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Leland American Legion 570. He worked for Graper Sales and Service in Troy Grove. He also worked for Air Products and Chemicals in Lasalle for 29 years. He enjoyed woodworking and making Christmas ornaments. Dale was a handy man that could fix anything.

He is survived by his wife Laurinda; four daughters, Valerie (Matt) Thomson of Reidsville, N.C., Amanda (Ron) Gruen of Lenior, N.C., Sarah (Kyle) Murphy of Sandwich, IL, TSGT Kim Cole of Pekin, IL, eight grandchildren, one sister Mary (Vernon) Sondgeroth of Princeton, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Turner Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Burial will follow at Victor Cemetery in Leland. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday January 4, 2020 at Turner Eighner Funeral Homes in Somonauk. In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to Leland American Legion 570 or a charity of your choice.
