Steven Josef Eckardt, age 51, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. He was born July 2, 1968 in Naperville, IL the son of Herbert and Erika (Zauner) Eckardt.
Steven was united in marriage on May 15, 1993 to Pamela Mazurek, they spent the next 26 happy years together. He was a Registered Nurse at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, IL. Steven was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was a long time and active member of the ALS Support Group. Steven enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Eckardt of Yorkville, IL; his sons, Adam and Ethan Eckardt; his father, Herbert (Joan Hogan) Eckardt of Woodridge, IL; his sister, Marlise Eckardt of Woodridge, IL; as well as 8 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Erika Eckardt.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut St., Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private.
