Obituary for Karen Jean Ransom
Karen Jean Ransom, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 31, 2020. Karen was born to Richard and Rita Arnold on December 6, 1939, in Chicago, IL.
For the last ten years, Karen worked at the Somonauk Public Library. She loved her job and the people she worked with and the community she served. She had an unwavering faith in God and a deep love for the Bible. Her favorite passage of scripture was Psalm 91 which she quoted frequently. She was so thankful for her Cornerstone Church family and Pastor Paul’s teachings. She worked with others to set up communion each month, which she enjoyed. She is survived by her three children; Bob (Sherry) Ransom of Del City, OK, Terri (Mark) Swanson of Somonauk, IL and Deb (Geoff) Safford of North Platte, NE; her nine grandchildren, Tiffiany (Rob) Butler, Jeremy Ransom, Lynne (Ashton) Brackett, Jake (Clarissa) Swanson, Amy Swanson, Geoffrey Safford, Hannah Safford (Sam Cencer), Trenton Safford, Naomi Safford; her six great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Riley and Avery Butler, Levi and Carter Brackett, and Jaxon Safford; her sisters-in-law, Rose Arnold and Jackie Arnold and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rita Arnold, and her brothers, Richard Arnold and Hugh Arnold.
