Slater-Butala Funeral Home recently issued the following announcement.
Mardell M. (Lind) Bush, 83, of Sycamore died Sunday, December 13, 2020 at NW Medicine- Kishwaukee Hospital.
She was born on December 17, 1936 in Elgin, IL. She was the daughter of Melburn R. and Thelma T.(Williams) Holmes.
Mardell worked as a CNA at Vencor Hospital in Sycamore and later was a crossing guard for the Sycamore Police Dept. for many years.
Her hobbies included playing BINGO, working on puzzles and going on cruises with friends. She also loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Ronald Lind, Linda (John) O'Brien, Joe (Laura) Lind and Matt (Nicole) Lind; her grandchildren, Sierra, Stephanie, Justine, Sarah, Heather, Jackson, Samantha, Thomas, Elizabeth and Ryan; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Laura Lind and Kathryn Delisio; her first husband, George Lind; her second husband, Larry Walters; and her sister, Betty Pippin.
A walk through visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 18th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory. Social distancing and face coverings will be enforced. A limit of 10 guests can be in the funeral home at one time.
Her graveside service will be on Saturday, Dec. 19th at 11:00 AM at the Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her family in care of the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
