City of Sandwich Committee-of-the-Whole Met Jan. 4.

Mayor Robinson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Roll call was taken:

Present via WebEx teleconference call: Alderman Dell, Kelleher, Killey & Kreinbrink;
City Attorney Harrill, Department of Public Works Horak, Building Official Steffens, Chief Bianchi, EMA Director Ciciora & Deputy Clerk Teckenbrock
Mayor Robinson reminded private contractors for snow removal need to keep crosswalks and fire hydrants clear for safety purposes. As a courtesy, residents are asked to keep sidewalks clear of snow.

Chief Bianchi: No report
Director of Public Works / City Engineer Horak reported that he has met with Wes Levy of Lauterbach & Amen regarding the 2020-2021 budget. Operating budget worksheets will be forthcoming. Engineer Horak also advised that Latham Street figures are being finalized, and he was trying to clarify water main costs.
Aldermen Reports: Alderman Dell expressed the need to begin the 2020-2021 budget process. His desire is to create a 5-year budget for capital improvements that would include such projects as streetlights, road repairs, dated infrastructure and vehicular replacements. Alderman Kreinbrink added that he would like to see more use of the intergovernmental agreement with DeKalb County for road repairs such as crack sealant for road repairs.
Announcements: The Finance Committee Meeting will meet immediately following the Committee- of-the-Whole Meeting on January 18, 2021.
