Finch Funeral Home recently issued the following announcement.

April 04, 1997 - March 09, 2021

  1. Tyler Goodenough
              Age 23 of Maple Park, IL, died on Tuesday March 9, 2021 in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, due to an automobile accident. He was born on April 4, 1997 in Geneva, IL, and he was the son of Dean N. and Kimberly A. (Stack) Goodenough.

              Tyler was a goofy and fun-loving person, he loved to go fishing in his down time when he was not walking and playing with his dog “Best Friend” Rex. He lived a life full of travels and adventures, from snorkeling in the Caribbean to fishing and bear hunting in Canada, his life was nothing short of extraordinary. He was an avid skier from the time he learned to walk, going on trips to Colorado and Michigan with family each year. Tyler was a die-hard Chicago Blackhawks fan and enjoyed going to watch them play at the United Center with his parents. He was known for his unique humor that never failed to make those around him double over in laughter. He always knew how to crack a joke at the perfect moment, as an example, and one of his family’s favorites “Tyler takes a shot of Brandy to help a cold while underage and says, “Ah, gets me every time”.

Survivors include parents: Dean and Kimberly of Maple Park, sister: Olivia of Maple Park, brothers: Ryan of Maple Park, Dane of Reno, NV., maternal grandparents: Gene and Penny (Wicker) Stack of WI, paternal grandparents: Dennis and Karen (VanPatten) Goodenough of Geneva, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday March 13, 2021 at Finch Funeral Home with Pastor Janet Hunt officiating. A public visitation will be held on Saturday March 13, 2021 at Finch Funeral Home from 4:30 PM till 6:30 PM, mask and social distancing is required. Cremation will follow the service at Finch Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Maple Parks Family Fund P.O. Box 246 Maple Park, IL, 60151.
