Illinois Rep. Jeff Keicher, R-70th, thanked his constituents for showing up to have a cup of coffee and chat to help voters better understand what is going on in the area.

Over the past few weeks, Keicher and Sen. Dave Syverson, R-35th, have hosted the Coffee and Conversation events across the district.

"Enjoyed coffee and conversation with folks in Maple Park this morning," Keicher said in a May 6 Facebook post. "Thank you to everyone who attended one of my recent coffees with Senator Dave Syverson over the last couple of weeks in Sycamore, Hampshire and Big Rock! We appreciate all of your feedback and the time you took out of your day to make your voice heard."

Keicher and Syverson hosted three events in April and May. It was free to attend and gave their constituents a chance to have their voices heard and connect with their elected state lawmakers.

Keicher's bill requiring local taxing bodies to review and report efficiency every decade and consider whether consolidating operations with another unit of government would achieve greater accountability and cost savings to taxpayers was recently approved by the general assembly, according to an April 4 news release.

The Coffee and Conversation events with Syverson weren't the only collaborations Keicher has been involved in. Keicher held a job fair May 4 in conjunction with Rep. Tom Demmer, R-90th, in Sycamore, a release stated.
