The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met in special session at the Legislative Center’s Gathertorium on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 7:15 p.m. President Willis called the meeting to order, and the Secretary called the roll. Those present were District Commissioners Michelle Pickett, Roy Plote, Chris Porterfield, Amber Quitno, Ellingsworth Webb, Tim Bagby, Scott Campbell, Mary Cozad, Rukisha Crawford, Patrick Deutsch, Meryl Domina, Laurie Emmer, Vice-President John Frieders, Ben Haier, Rhonda Henke, Laura Hoffman, Savannah Ilenikhena, Maureen Little, Jim Luebke, Terri Mann
Lamb, Joe Marcinkowski, Stewart Ogilvie, and Jerry Osland. Kathy Lampkins was absent. There was a quorum established with twenty-three Commissioners present and one absent.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion
Ilenikhena moved to approve the agenda as presented and Plote seconded the motion. Voice Vote
Vice-President Frieders called for a voice vote to approve the agenda. The motion carried.
COMMUNICATIONS & PROCLAMATIONS
Motion
Vice-President Frieders moved to accept Suzanne Willis’s resignation from the DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners as well as her role as the District of Commissioner’s President. Deutsch seconded the motion.

The motion carried.
SELECTION OF PRESIDENT PRO-TEM
Motion
Campbell moved to elect Steve Faivre as Forest Preserve District Commissioners President Pro Tem. Quitno seconded the motion.

The motion carried
PUBLIC COMMENTS
There were no public comments.
Quitno left the meeting. There were now twenty-two Commissioners present and two absent.
ELECTION OF FOREST PRESERVE DISTRICT COMMISSIONER PRESIDENT Nominations
Luebke nominated Ellingsworth Webb to be the Forest Preserve District Commissioner President. Deutsch seconded the motion.
President Pro-Tern Faivre asked three times if there were any other nominations.
Close Nominations
Hearing no other nominations, President Pro-Tem Faivre closed nominations for the Forest Preserve District Commissioner President.
Vote to Elect District Commissioner President
The President Pro-Tem called for a roll call vote to elect Webb as President. Those Commissioners voting yea ^vere Pickett, Plote, Porterfield, Webb, Bagby, Campbell, Cozad, Crawford, Deutsch, Domina, Emmer, Vice-President Frieders, Haier, Henke, Hoffman, Ilenikhena, Little, Luebke, Mann-Lamb, Marcinkowski, and Ogilvie. Osland opposed. The motion carried 21-1-2.
ADJOURNMENT

Mann-Lamb moved to adjourn at 7:19 p.m. and Ilenikhena seconded the motion. Voice Vote
President Webb called for a voice vote to adjourn. Motion carried.
