B. REVIEW AND DISCUSS A BOUNDARY AGREEMENT MAP WITH THE VILLAGE OF BURLINGTON

Throughout 2025 and 2026, the City of Genoa and surrounding communities have boundary agreements from the early 2000’s that will be expiring. The Mayor and Staff have been engaging in conversations with these communities to discuss renewal unless any modifications to the maps are requested. Included in the packet is a Boundary Agreement Map with the Village of Burlington. The map is extremely similar to the current boundaries (also included in the packet), with the exception of a green space buffer added between the communities. Staff is looking for feedback from the Council. If the Council agrees with the draft, this map will be incorporated into the existing agreement to be extended an additional 20 years.

C. APPROVE A FOURTH AMENDMENT TO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF A COMMUNITY FITNESS CENTER

The Park District Fitness Center approached the City of Genoa with a request to modify the existing agreement for use of the 2nd floor of City Hall. Through conversations with the Park District, it is believed that the agreement attached is mutually agreeable. This agreement includes modifications to the rent increases between 2025 and 2031 as well as allowing the Park District to terminate the agreement with 120 days’ notice. The Genoa Township Park Board will be considering the agreement on Monday January 20th .
