Special Meeting
The Forest Preserve Committee of the DeKalb County Board met in Sycamore, Illinois on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Chair Roy Plote called the meeting to order at 6:34pm. Those Members present were Mary Cozad, Benjamin Haier, and Chris Porterfield. A quorum was established with four Members present, three absent.
APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA
Porterfield moved to approve the agenda as presented. Haier seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
It was moved by Cozad, seconded by Porterfield and it was carried unanimously to approve the minutes of the February 27, 2025 Forest Preserve Committee Meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
There were no public comments.
RESOLUTIONS.
Resolution FP-R2025-007—A Resolution Approving and Supporting the G2K Trail Building the Future Grant Application.
The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District has completed a Letter of Intent for a DeKalb County Community Foundation Building the Future Grant for the G2K Trail surfacing (mostly limestone and a small section of asphalt ) of 1.7 miles of the 3.2 mile G2K Trail the DeKalb County Forest Preserve District has been invited to continue with the grant application for the Building the Future Grant. The 1.7 mile trail surfacing project estimated cost by the DeKalb County Engineer at $151,800. The grant request is for $50,000
Resolution FP-R2025-007 approves and endorses the submission of the Forest Preserve District’s Building the Future Grant application.
Porterfield moved to forward the Resolution to the Forest Preserve District Commission. Haier seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
Haier moved to adjourn the meeting. Porterfield seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
