Jeff Keicher fails to see the logic in what’s happening in Illinois.
“Illinois has amazing resources and unlimited potential for success,” he posted on Facebook. “We are centrally located, have great schools and universities, have a highly educated workforce, some of the richest farmland in the world and yet we continue to allow our future to be mitigated with over burdensome regulations, mandates and taxes.”
Keicher’s post was prompted by reports that at least 33,703 people left the state last year with the primary reason cited by many of them being financial considerations.

“It saddens me to see this trend continue because I know the strong desire within most of us to see this state once again at the top of the charts for successful economic growth and job creation,” added Keicher, a Sycamore Republican seeking the seat being vacated by Rep. Robert Pritchard (R-Hinckley) in the 70th District.
A small-business owner by trade, Keicher has made tax reform and out-migration central themes of his campaign platform.
“Illinois needs to compete by moving to address over-regulation and taxes,” he recently wrote on Facebook. “We have the potential to be an amazing place once again.”
The 70th District spans parts of covers DeKalb, Boone and Kane counties.
